Vinyl: The Sound and Culture of Records Exhibit at the Oakland Museum of California
Explore the social and cultural phenomenon of listening to, collecting, and sharing records in Vinyl: The Sound and Culture of Records. The exhibit's dynamic exhibit space, designed in partnership with Matthew Passmore, from the San Francisco-based art and design collective Rebar, features stand-alone listening stations with turntables and album art displays, and comfortable, lounge-like, social gathering areas that allow museum visitors to control their own music experience in the gallery. This exhibition runs from April 19 through July 27, 2014 and includes the work of Spark featured artist, Walter Kitundu. Admission is free the first Sunday of every month.
