The Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra: Pergolesi in Naples
David Daniels and Carolyn Sampson join Philharmonia in a concert featuring Pergolesi's hauntingly beautiful Stabat Mater, alongside works by Handel and Durante. Among the pinnacles of the Baroque period, Stabat Mater is a melancholic hymn which has been described as 'the most perfect and most touching to have come from the pen of any musician.' The event locations range between San Francisco, Atherton, and Berkeley, and the times range from 7:30pm to 8:00pm. For more information, go to philharmonia.org.
