In the Moment: Japanese Art from the Larry Ellison Collection

Larry Ellison CollectionThis summer at the Asian Art Museum, view works of Japanese art from the rarely seen collection of Larry Ellison, owner of Oracle Team USA, defender of the 2013 America's Cup. With more than 60 artworks spanning 1,100 years, In the Moment features stunning painted screens, hanging scrolls, lacquer, woodwork, and metalwork. But it's not just a selection of beautiful art, this exhibition also reveals the dynamic nature of art selection and display in traditional Japanese settings, where special occasions and seasonal changes often prompt the temporary presentation of art. Open Tuesdays through Sundays 10am to 5pm, and on Thursday from 10am to 9pm. Closed Mondays.
