Educator Event: Integrated Learning Summer Institute
The second annual Integrated Learning Summer Institute, Inventing Our Future, will be held at the beautiful Chabot Space and Science Center in Oakland on Tue-Thu, August 13-15, 2013.
KQED's Arts and Media education team will present courses on video production and using social media in the classroom.
Teachers, teaching artists, administrators and parents will come together to learn and share best educational practices, frameworks developed at Harvard's Project Zero, and new best practices, including how to let go of pacing guides and embrace the new Common Core standards with confidence.
The gathering will provide new, equitable and artful approaches to
teaching, learning and assessment. Practitioner-led mini-courses and
thought provoking daily plenaries will address the multiple and creative
ways to engage our students in the rapidly changing world we inhabit.
Participants will come away with a new set of tools for growing young
minds and renewed enthusiasm and commitment to “inventing the future”
with their students in the new school year.
