SF Ballet: Alexei Ratmansky, Within the Golden Hour, Scotch Symphony
SF Ballet is pleased to present From Foreign Lands, a world premiere by Alexei Ratmansky, artist-in-residence at American Ballet Theatre and former director of the Bolshoi Ballet. Having produced two works for San Francisco Ballet (his first was Carnival of the Animals in 2003), Ratmansky is one of the ballet world's most sought-after choreographers. Program Four also includes Christopher Wheeldon's stunning Within the Golden Hour, first performed during the 2008 New Works Festival, and hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as, 'one of Wheeldon's best works and one of the Company's finest hours.' The program concludes with George Balanchine's jubilant masterpiece, Scotch Symphony.
