Dorothea Tanning: Unknown But Knowable States exhibition at Gallery Wendi Norris

Unknown but Knowable States (January 10 through March 2, 2013) features rare and ground-breaking paintings, drawings, and sculptures by Dorothea Tanning. For the first time, the gallery will be dedicating the entire 5,000 square foot space to the work of one artist, paying tribute to Tanning's fearless vision and prolific body of work. Focusing on works creating between 1960 and 1979, during which the Surrealist artist and writer lived, worked, and exhibited in Paris, the show will include more than thirty pieces, and will be documented in a 60-page catalog featuring an essay by Catriona McAra. Opening reception on January 10 from 5pm-8pm. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11am-6pm.
