Community Cinema presents Solar Mamas, a film highlighting Barefoot College in India, where a female student becomes her country's first solar engineer. Beyond the thematic concepts of women's empowerment, development, and practical environmentalism, the film provides a moving portrait of a woman caught between expectations imposed on her by Jordanian society and her dreams to travel, to be independent, to make a living for her family. The event will feature a panel of local leaders. Located in the Koret Auditorium of the SF Main Public Library.
