KQED's documentary film series, Truly CA along with the Oakland Film Office and the Oakland Museum of California invite you to pack up a picnic and bring your blankets and chairs for a free outdoor screening of Alex Beckstead's Paperback Dreams, which chronicles two landmark independent bookstores' -- Cody's and Kepler's -- struggle to survive the tumultuous book business. This screening is part of Oakland Museum's First Fridays After Five. The gardens open for picnics at 7:00pm and the film and conversation begin at 7:30pm.
